WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT THIS APARTMENT THAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO TELL FROM THE PHOTOS?
The living room has concealed cabinets that are set up for all your electronics including your cable box, internet router and air conditioner so they are not exposed. The entire ceiling in the living room has recessed LED lights that really lights up the apartment at night and are energy efficient to save money your electric bill. If you look at the floorplan you'll notice there are five large closets, including one walk-in utility closet, all of which have been outfitted by the container store with custom closets. There's no shortage of storage space.
WHAT IS THE VIEW AND THE DEAL WITH THE TERRACE?
The view is a south east facing open view. Upon entering this sun flooded apartment the first thing you see is blue sky, the park by the United Nations followed by the river and a picture perfect view of the the Brooklyn Bridge. As you walk onto the private wrap around terrace you have a panoramic view of the city and you have two views of the water. The terrace can fit a table, chairs and more. It is private and separated from the other terraces in the building.
WHAT IS THE BUILDING LIKE AND IS THERE LAUNDRY?
The building is a small boutique building with a 24/7 doorman who is there to take your packages and dry cleaning. The building has 14 floors and 93 apartments. This apartment is on the penthouse floor where there are only 3 apartments. There is laundry in the basement. There is storage for rent in the building.
WHAT IS THE BLOCK & NEIGHBORHOOD LIKE FOR THIS APARTMENT?
East 51st Street between First and Second Avenue is one of the best blocks in Midtown. The tree lined block contains a rows of townhouses sandwiched between two luxury buildings. On the corner of First Avenue is Duane Reade and Ethos Restaurant and on the corner of Second Avenue is The Smith and CVS. Transportation wise you can not be in a more central location. The entrance to the E, M and 6 train are two avenues over - these trains take you north south east and west - which is rare to have. The exit to the FDR Drive is on 49th Street and the entrance is on 47th Street. Grand Central is less than half a mile from the apartment.
